This year, IP Events Management had the pleasure of being in Barcelona to witness the start of the Tour de France, one of the most important sporting events in the world. It was a truly unique experience, giving us the opportunity to feel the energy of the race, the excitement of the competition, and the remarkable atmosphere that filled the entire city.

The Grand Depart from Barcelona gave the event a distinctive character, while the opening stages in Spain delivered impressive images and strong emotions for cycling fans. The finishes within the city itself turned Barcelona into a central point of reference for the race, linking elite sport with the urban identity and international appeal of the Catalan capital.

Particular attention was drawn to the strict security measures in place throughout the route in central Barcelona. The entire course was lined with barriers, ensuring full control of access, safe movement for the riders, and effective protection for spectators. The high level of organization made it clear that every detail had been carefully planned to guarantee the smooth running of such a major international event.

A particularly symbolic moment was the passage by the Sagrada Familia, where there was an intermediate timing point. This gave the race an even stronger identity, connecting a world-class sporting event with Barcelona’s most iconic landmark. The image of the riders passing through such an emblematic setting added a unique dimension to the event and highlighted both the race and the city on an international stage.

At the same time, we had the opportunity to admire the Sagrada Familia itself, Gaudi’s masterpiece, which has now been essentially completed after approximately 140 years. It stands today as a global symbol of art, faith, inspiration, and human perseverance.

Our presence in Barcelona brought together sport and culture in a truly unique way. On the one hand, we experienced firsthand the intensity, beauty, and international prestige of the Tour de France. On the other, we found ourselves in front of an architectural masterpiece that marks a historic moment for the city and for the wider world.

For IP Events Management, this was a valuable opportunity to observe not only a world-class sporting event, but also the way a major European city can successfully combine organization, safety, culture, and international visibility at the highest level.

It was an experience that will stay with us. The Tour de France, the magic of Barcelona, the strong security arrangements, and the symbolic power of the Sagrada Familia came together to create a memorable journey filled with remarkable images and lasting impressions.
